FAQ: FAQ

HOW CAN I GET IN TOUCH?

If you have questions or want to speak to us, email info@lonelyape.co.uk and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

HOW LONG DOES DELIVERY TAKE?

All of our jewellery is hand finished to order and posted as soon as possible with a first class signed for service.

Orders are despatched within 7-10 working days, providing it is in stock and not a bespoke commission, and we will update you with tracking information as soon as possible.

Deliveries for commissions vary depending on what has been ordered - but on average take between 4 to 8 weeks.

HOW IS YOUR JEWELLERY MADE?

All of the pieces in our collection are designed and handmade by Katherine in the Lonely Ape workshop. Once they have been designed, the jewellery is cast in solid 925 sterling silver and hallmarked in London.

All of our jewellery is hand finished to order, so it can take a bit longer, but if you are in a hurry just let us know and we can help.

DO YOU OFFER GIFT VOUCHERS?

We do! We have vouchers available for both our jewellery collections and workshops. Just email us on info@lonelyape.co.uk and we can help you.

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?

If you are purchasing jewellery from our collections or booking a workshop class, you can pay via debit or credit card through our secure website.

If you are looking to do a commission, we require a 50% deposit up-front, with the remaining balance due before delivery.

DO YOU TAKE COMMISSIONS?

We do! Drop us an email with a bit more detail about what you would like and we will let you know it is possible for us to work with you on this.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

We really hope you love your Lonely Ape purchase! However if you do wish to return an item you can do this by notifying us and returning the item within 14 days of receiving your goods, whereby you will receive a refund for the price of the piece, or an exchange.

We must receive the piece back unused and in it’s original condition and packaging and we do not cover the cost of returns postage, but we recommend using an insured service.

Unfortunately we do not accept returns on personalised items or earrings for hygiene reasons.

If you receive your item and find your purchase is faulty, please let us know within 24 hours on info@lonelyape.co.uk.

HOW LONG ARE YOUR WORKSHOPS?

All of our classes take place in the real life Lonely Ape workshop - so you can see where everything is made!

The classes take between 2 - 3 hours, and have a maximum of 4 people per session.

WHAT CAN I MAKE IN A WORKSHOP?

You can choose between making earrings, a ring, a pendant or a bangle and will be tutored in small groups through the whole process from start to finish.

You will be able to choose different thicknesses of silver wire and strip silver depending on the style you want to create; and we then then spend time exploring different ways to create marks and surface textures using a variety of files and hammers.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE IN A WORKSHOP?

In our textured jewellery workshops you will learn skills such as annealing, soldering, hammering, filing and finishing - so you could use different tools and equipment such as a variety of files and hammers, a blow torch, piercing saws and polishing machines.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT ON YOUR WORKSHOPS?

As our jewellery classes are based in the real Lonely Ape workshop with working machines, for health and safety reasons we cannot take bookings for those under the age of 16.

ARE THE WORKSHOP CLASSES SAFE?

Lonely Ape is an independent jewellery company, so our workshop is relatively small. You will be provided with expert tuition throughout the class to ensure your safety, and we only take small groups of up to 4 so you can receive personalised care.

It is still however a working jewellery workshop, so we do require full concentration, no loose clothing and long hair to be tied back.

WHERE IS THE LONELY APE WORKSHOP?

Our workshop is based in Lightwater, Surrey - which is set just off junction 3 of the M3. Between Woking and Bracknell.
